Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Assembler II-IV at our Fort Walton beach, FL location.
Hours are :
- 1st Shift : Monday-Friday 6am-3 : 30pm on a 9 / 80 schedule
- 2nd Shift : Monday-Friday 3 : 15pm-12 : 45am on a 9 / 80 schedule

Job Summary :
Electronic Assembler performs, with supervision, basic and routine electronic or hybrid assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, or subassemblies in accordance with military and / or other assembly standards using blueprints, visual aids, wiring lists, verbal and / or written instructions. The Assembler may also be responsible for other processes related to the manufacture of electronic assemblies including, but not limited to : encapsulation (potting), conformal coating, SMT operations, and painting.
Essential Functions :
\n
Perform skilled soldering of circuit cards, touch up, jumper wires, through hole, and mag wire with use of microscope.\n
Execute hand assembly of cable assemblies, pin interface into connectors, masking / de-masking, crimping, stripping, riveting, touch up paint & chemical conversion, bonding and mixing chemical.\n
Use hand tools including but not limited to, soldering irons, solder suckers, torque wrenches, manual hand tools, power tools along with automated machine operation.\n
Visually check completed work against drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.\n
Recognize and assure correct values of electronic components : index and position mechanical components per drawing and specifications.\n
Cross-train to work on at least 2 products.\n
Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy.\n
Satisfactorily complete job-related company training courses\n
Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.\n
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.\n \n
Electronics Focused Assemblers will also :
\n
Perform a wide range of complex electronic assembly and soldering operations on low voltage, high voltage, microwave or other components or subassemblies in accordance with military and / or other assembly standards using blueprints, visual aids, wiring lists, verbal and / or written instructions.\n
Perform a wide range of complex hybrid electronic assembly to include the handling of hybrid components, wire bonding, ribbon attaching, and manually attaching hybrid components (utilizing a variety of materials such as AuSi, AuSn, 1 mil gold wire, 15 mil gold ribbon, etc.) in accordance with military and / or other assembly standards using blueprints, visual aids, wiring lists, verbal and / or written instructions all while utilizing a microscope.\n
Prep components prior to assembly, clean components, wire bond, seal, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.\n \n
Non-Essential Functions :
\n
Understand and or participate with internal / external audits.\n
Perform inventory cycle counts.\n
Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement.\n
May be required to repair / rework defective or returned assemblies and / or inspect components or final assemblies.\n
May also be responsible for other processes related to the manufacture of electronic assemblies including, but not limited to : encapsulation (potting), conformal coating, SMT operations, and painting.\n \n
Minimum Qualifications :
\n
Experience : 1+ years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment. IPC / J-STD soldering experience required for 1st Shift; strong soldering experience required for 2nd Shift. \n\n
Knowledge : Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods\n
Skills : Strong verbal and written communication; Good reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents); Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)\n
Abilities : Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume setting\n
Education / Certification : High School diploma or equivalent; Fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience\n
\n Eligibility Requirement : This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications :
\n
Experience using resistance welder, sanders, and engraving.\n
Experience with magnetic assembly.\n
Ability to do part marking, wrapping and packaging finished goods and transport to other work areas.\n
Ability to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately and to close work orders.\n
Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions.\n \n
