Job Overview

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming) Software Quality Assurance.

Salary Range : $66,951 to $85,138 Annually

Employment Type : Full-Time

Appointment Type : Permanent

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Review business and technical requirements to identify test conditions.
• Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable test scripts.
• Ensure automation integrates with CI / CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Execute automated test suites across different environments.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, performance testing.
• Execute manual tests when automation is not feasible or for exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects in qTest.
• Provide clear reproduction steps, logs, and screenshots.
• Collaborate with developers and business users to resolve defects.
• Validate data integrity and perform backend testing using SQL or APIs.
• Ensure compliance with NYSIF standards, accessibility guidelines, and security requirements.

Minimum Qualifications :

Note : Certain math and business courses, although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours.
