Overview
Westinghouse is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer focused on Balance of Plant (BOP) Layout. The position is hybrid, typically requiring 3 days per week on-site at the Westinghouse office in Rock Hill, SC. Relocation assistance is not available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Support design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of non-nuclear and large-scale nuclear projects.
- Develop mechanical fluid system piping layout, resolve routing interferences, and reduce potential physical layout conflicts.
- Coordinate technical details with functional areas for plant design and parameters.
- Interface with engineers in different departments and global locations to support design, fabrication, and construction organizations, responding to RFIs, identifying design changes, and addressing deviations.
- Assess physical arrangement of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using multi-dimensional E3D design software.
- Author, review, and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D models and plant designs working with WNEXUS.
- Prepare technical reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and contract requirements.
Qualifications
BS Mechanical Engineering Required.Minimum 3.0 GPA.0-3 years' experience; 2023-2025 graduate mechanical engineers are encouraged to apply.Understanding of 3D modeling software; previous use of E3D software; REVIT experience for small projects.Visual and spatial design skills.Leadership and program management skills.Benefits
