Organizational Summary
The Muma College of Business hosts undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs for more than 8,700 students on all three USF campuses. The AACSB‑accredited college is home to the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy, Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance, The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance, School of Information Systems and Management, School of Marketing and Innovation, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, as well as several centers, institutes and labs.
Position Summary
The Communications and Marketing Officer (Digital) plans, executes and evaluates cross‑media marketing and communications campaigns to recruit students for graduate, certificate, executive and other educational programs. They promote events and build the reputation of the Muma College of Business. The digital marketing officer manages social and other advertising campaigns that integrate with marketing automation, web and email strategies to achieve college, center and program objectives and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, evaluate, optimize, and report on custom digital media plans designed to meet established budget and enrollment targets. Research audience and keywords to create content, segment, and target campaigns. Select advertising platform mix including search, social and traditional media. Build and manage media schedules, and coordinate with program directors and the communications / marketing team to develop needed assets.
Execute, evaluate, and optimize email, web, and social campaigns to engage and nurture audiences to achieve communications / marketing objectives, including student recruitment and increased event attendance.
Continuously monitor all digital advertising campaigns to optimize performance. Track and analyze conversions at each stage to meet campaign goals and ensure rates meet or exceed industry standards. Address under‑performing tactics, make changes, and provide monthly reports on campaign performance for college / faculty partners.
Establish and manage relationships with digital and traditional media vendors. Develop expert‑level knowledge of planning, buying, and billing cycles. Negotiate the most cost‑effective buys and placements. Advise the team when new advertising opportunities arise and troubleshoot vendor issues.
Conduct benchmarking research and stay current on emerging technologies, tools, platforms, and trends. Maintain critical training and certifications from Google AdWords, HubSpot, and other marketing platforms and vendors.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or a related field, with two years of experience in related positions.
Preferred Qualifications :
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field with at least two years of significant experience working as a digital media buyer specializing in inbound marketing tactics. Google AdWords and Bing Ads certifications, experience with a marketing automation tool (such as HubSpot, Marketo, etc.), and strong advertising copywriting skills.

Degree Equivalency Clause
