Summary

Hyatt is seeking a Director of Cloud and Compute Infrastructure. This position is responsible for driving the design, architecture, implementation, and operational excellence of Hyatt's cloud, data center compute, and supporting services. The Director will lead a group of department managers, systems engineers, subject leads, and their respective teams in the administration, planning, design, and implementation of Hyatt-centric compute strategy. Together with their direct reports and in partnership with technical and business stakeholders, the Director will develop plans for compute infrastructure enhancement and growth, lead troubleshooting efforts—including coordinating disparate vendors and providers—monitor the health of the corporate data center footprint, and ensure that capacity demands are met in the most reliable and cost‑effective manner possible.

Responsibilities

  • Define, architect and execute Hyatt’s cloud, data center, and compute infrastructure aligning with roadmaps and IT and business goals.
  • Analyze compute infrastructure needs—whether on‑premise, cloud‑based, or hybrid—and recommend architecture, operational processes and solutions.
  • Establish standards for high availability and performance optimization; ensure 24x7 availability, performance and reliability of compute infrastructure.
  • Develop disaster recovery architecture and plan for cloud and compute infrastructure and lead annual DR testing.
  • Collaborate with other IT and engineering leaders to ensure alignment on roadmaps and priorities.
  • Drive automation of provisioning, scaling and monitoring to improve time to deliver and reliability.
  • Partner with Cyber Security, Architecture, Network and Product teams to ensure security, compliance and performance.
  • Lead a team of systems and cloud managers, engineers and other direct reports to develop their soft and hard skills.
  • Develop budget and manage P&L costs for cloud and on‑prem systems infrastructure.
  • Analyze and negotiate contracts with key infrastructure vendors and partners; manage relationships in partnership with procurement.
  • Manage a portfolio of Cloud Engineering and Compute projects, ensuring prioritization and alignment with business goals.
  • Build technical roadmap and strategy for Hyatt’s compute platform both in Cloud and On‑Prem operations.
  • Implement observability frameworks for proactive monitoring, logging and incident response.
  • Develop and enforce policies for governance, security and compliance; own capacity planning and cost optimization (Cloud FinOps).
  • Qualifications

  • 15 years in IT systems engineering, operations or architecture experience.
  • 10 years of multi‑site enterprise experience, including 24x7 operations and continuous availability.
  • 8+ years leadership experience.
  • Operational experience with Windows, AIX, Linux, private / public / hybrid cloud solutions and vendors, cloud / data center networking.
  • Track record in leading enterprise‑scale cloud and compute initiatives.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
  • Master’s degree in business administration or related job experience.

    The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $195,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards and an annual bonus. The final pay rate / salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
