American Traveler is seeking an experienced LDRP RN for a Level II trauma center with night shifts, requiring 3 years of LDRP experience and current ND or compact RN licensure.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital setting on the LDRP unitUnit includes 7 L&D beds, 12 postpartum beds, 8 surgical beds, and dedicated OR suites for C-sections and GYN surgeryPatient population includes obstetric, antepartum, postpartum, triage, and surgical / medical cases, with an average of 643 births annuallyTypical nurse-patient ratios per AWHONN guidelines : L&D 1 : 1-2, postpartum 1 : 2-3 couplets, surgical / medical 1 : 3-4Shifts are 12 hours, primarily nights, with every third weekend requiredFloating may be required to Peds MS, NICU (feeder-growers), med / surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and psych units as 1 : 1 sitter or for assistanceEPIC is used for chartingFirst to float policy applies to travelersPrimary duties include labor, delivery, triage, postpartum, and occasional surgical and high-risk obstetric careNurses are expected to scrub for deliveries, with preference given to those already trainedOB, neonatologist, and anesthesia provider on call or in-house 24 / 7; NNP available overnightSurgical scrubs provided for staffOrientation includes two 12-hour unit shiftsHigh patient satisfaction reported in the departmentUp to 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, additional requests will not be approvedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyHoliday coverage may be required as needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of application (pending licenses not accepted)Minimum of 3 years of LDRP nursing experience requiredCertifications required : AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (Advanced preferred), BLS, NRP, and STABLEAbility to titrate drips including pitocin, magnesium, and occasional insulin dripsMust be comfortable reading telemetry strips in Phase 1 recovery for C-section patientsTwo references required : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 yearsCandidates may not have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past yearPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
