Position Summary
The In-House Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, with a particular emphasis on agreements related to ERISA-regulated benefit plans and healthcare services. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and business operations within the insurance and healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, employment agreements, and service-level agreements
- Ensure contracts align with Crumdale Specialty’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations
- Collaborate with business units, including Captive Sales, Underwriting, and Operations, to support deal structuring and implementation
- Support dispute resolution and contract enforcement as needed
- Maintain organized contract records and contribute to process improvements in contract management
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive bar membership in good standing5+ years of experience in contract lawStrong analytical, negotiation, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with regulatory compliance and risk management in healthcare and employee benefits is highly preferredExperience in the insurance industry or with TPAs, PBMs, or healthcare providers is highly preferredExperience with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other healthcare regulations preferredBenefits
