Responsibilities
- Assists the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance and special projects as assigned.
- Leads and develops Team Members.
- Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
- Perform duties in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures.
- Support WFM core values and goals and adhere to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and regulatory duties in the department.
- In the absence of the Team Leader, act as point person and departmental lead.
- Set and achieve high standards of retail execution and teamwork; foster a positive environment and strong morale.
- Monitor customer flows and needs; direct Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Provide timely, thorough performance evaluations and communicate the WFM vision and goals.

18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Stand / walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.Hand use includes single grasping and fine manipulation; pushing and pulling.Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach; exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.Work in temperatures ranging from below 32°F to above 90°F; able to work in wet and cold environments.Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters and electric pallet jacks.Note : The purpose of this document is to provide a general summary of essential responsibilities for the position and is not meant as an exhaustive list.
