POSITION SUMMARY

The Tool Maker is responsible for the tooling and fabrication of custom tooling for our customers. This position requires a hands-on approach to all aspects of the tooling process. The Tool Maker will be responsible for ensuring that all customer specifications are met and that the tools are made to the highest quality standards.

The Tool Maker prepares and manufactures Jigs, Fixtures and Tooling, working in cooperation with in-house Research and Development to support critical projects. Under limited supervision the Tool Maker will design, fabricate, repair, and improve tools, jigs, fixtures, simple molds, gauges and dies to the tolerances required for the intended manufacturing processes. Working from CAD drawings, sketches, models or instructions. Planning of work to be accomplished by using the most economical methods and proper machines. Responsible to assign machining of specific parts to Machinists and provide drawings and / or sketches for their own or others use in producing subassembly components. May be asked assist management in scheduling work and / or provide direction to other staff members, serving as a group leader on projects when required.
