Under general supervision, assists leadership in supporting and managing the nurse practitioner group within a specific service line. Responsible for diagnosing and treating patients in collaboration with physician colleagues. Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient’s family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, cost effective care; appropriate length of stay; and patient safety. Serves as link integrating relevant research and best practices.

Detailed Description :

• Clinical Leadership / Outcomes : Serves as Program coordinator for cranial and NIS teams and collaborates with leadership to facilitate development, support, and management of the clinical programs within a specific service line. This includes improving program workflow and improving patient throughput.
• Clinical Responsibilities : Comprehensive history of physical for new and returning patients. Orders, obtains, and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, establishes medical diagnosis based on history, assessment, and diagnostic findings. Promotes understanding of disease processes in areas of specialty / program.
• Professional Development and Organizational Leadership : Serves on department, hospital, and community committees.
• Research Responsibilities : Serves as a clinical sub trial investigator participating in or coordinating phases of industry sponsored research.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education / training and other qualifications.
