Position Overview
As a teacher at Liberation Academy, you will have the opportunity to create an impact in the lives of students that will last a lifetime. Teaching is difficult work, but it is among the most rewarding jobs. We pride ourselves on providing a culturally rich curriculum that is equally as rigorous. Being a part of this team means that you will find creative ways to empower students to think critically and creatively. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following :
Curriculum Development and Instruction
- Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
- Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
- Use data to inform instructional decisions
- Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
- Differentiate instruction to ensure that all students are progressing
- In conjunction with Exceptional Education Teachers, work to ensure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom
Help Build a Positive School and Classroom Culture
Embody and maintain school’s values, policies, and cultureDevelop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community membersEstablish and maintain strong communication with all families and share progressShow up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and moreCreate a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the studentsHave fun and spread joy!Demonstrate a Growth Mindset

Required Qualifications
