Description : POSITION SUMMARY :
The main responsibility of the Diesel Mechanic is to maintain, repair and perform preventative maintenance on Dem-Con’s fleet of trucks and other assets as assigned. In addition, the position will work with the lead technician / s to diagnose and repair a variety of diesel trucks and equipment. The position will also complete dumpster repair and fabrication projects as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions and work with and around heavy machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors, and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, the noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must have the ability to lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
