Description : Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with a strong background in electrical engineering, switchgear systems, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for custom switchgear and electrical equipment projects, supporting sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Evaluate project scope and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain current pricing and lead times.
  • Generate comprehensive proposals and quotations for clients, ensuring timely submission of bids.
  • Maintain a database of historical costs and assist with post-project analysis.
  • Support business development efforts with technical expertise and pricing strategies.

Requirements :

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in estimating within the electrical manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of switchgear, control panels, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, and cost drivers.
  • Proficiency with estimation and CAD software; ERP / MRP system experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a custom or build-to-order manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of UL standards and relevant electrical codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
