Summary
The General Manager holds full P&L responsibility for site operations, leading all functional teams to ensure delivery of financial, operational, and strategic goals. This role requires building a high-performing, engaged organization focused on continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Owns overall P&L accountability for the site, ensuring delivery of monthly and annual financial commitments.
- Develops and executes operational strategies, policies, and best practices to support business growth and competitiveness.
- Builds and maintains a culture of high performance, teamwork, and employee engagement.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, including visual management and structured problem-solving events.
- Analyzes complex challenges, providing clear direction and solutions aligned to business strategy.
- Ensures on-time, on-budget execution of all operational plans and commitments.
- Leads, coaches, and develops department managers; sets clear objectives, reviews performance, and manages compensation approvals.
- Manages all site functions including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality with a focus on cost control, inventory management, and delivery performance.
- Collaborates effectively in a matrix environment, coordinating with finance, HR, IT, and other support functions.
- Oversees customer communications, maintaining a relentless focus on delivery, quality, and cost.
- Champions new product introductions and product transfers to ensure seamless integration into production.
- Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and corporate leadership.
- Represents the company as needed in community or industry events.
- Balances empowering teams with disciplined follow-through to ensure high standards of execution.
- Promotes operational excellence through proven manufacturing best practices and data-driven decision making.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field required.Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred.Experience
