RN Position Job Notes :

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity : RN - PCU

Job Details :

Work in the Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit on the E4 floor

Patient ratio of 1 : 5 patients per RN

Primary patient population includes CV surgery and vascular surgery patients

Provide care for open heart surgery patients (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, and vascular procedures

Work with overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses including heart failure, DKA, chest pain, and sepsis

Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday / Sunday day / night) per 6-week schedule period required

No on-call responsibilities

Required certifications : ACLS and BLS

Stepdown and telemetry experience required

Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred within a year

CVICU experience preferred

Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management

Float to any stepdown unit (1 : 5 ratios), medical / surgical units (1 : 6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1 : 6)

Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts

Use Cerner EMR system

Dress code : All navy scrubs, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs

Must be a team player, enjoy fast-paced environment, and be flexible
