Primary Responsibilities
- Must be available for at least one (1) ~ rotation OCONUS annually, plus additional training / screening events. This position will be available to support Mobile Surgical Resuscitation Team activities to include :
- Practice acute care surgery in austere and limited resource environments
- Work with other members of a small team, perform examinations, make diagnoses and treat or prescribe a course of treatment and surgery, including damage control surgery for patients with injuries or disorders with surgical conditions
- Provide consultation and advice to patients and customers as the surgical subject matter expert
- Perform required surgery
- Conduct and supervise direct patient care, including surgical critical care and damage control surgical interventions
- Supervise other nursing and support personnel during resuscitation, perioperative and post-operative phases of care
- Document care provided and complete medical records in accordance with VIGILINT policy
- Plan and may conduct Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) missions for ICU level patients
- Based on qualifications and experience, may function in a leadership position
- Perform special staff functions as required
- Perform medical training and instruction as requested

Active SECRET or higher security clearanceCurrent and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or U.S. TerritoryCurrent Board Certification through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of SurgeryCurrent / active civilian practice to maintain clinical currency during non-deployed periodsMinimum five (5) years' experience as staff or attending Surgeon in a high volume / high acuity or critical access environmentDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathyMinimum eight (8) years' experience as a SurgeonMinimum of five (5) years U.S. Military or Government Sponsored experienceU.S. Military or Government Sponsored deployment within the last 3 years in an austere environment and combat-like conditionsSuccessful candidates may be invited for an in-person assessment processExperience shall include deployment in austere and combat-like conditions in Role 1, 2, or 3 facilitiesUnited States citizenCurrent ACLS, PALS, & BLS training through American Heart Association or Red CrossCurrent and unrestricted DEA licenseCurrent United States Passport that will not expire within 1-year of employmentStrongly Desired Qualifications
