Construction Manager position in Marlborough, MA, long-term, indefinite contract with Technical Staffing Resources.

Job Description

  • Assists Project Leaders and Project Managers in carrying out all project activities.
  • Assumes responsibility for coordinating certain portions of the administration of the project such as cost control, document control, contract changes, shop drawings, etc.
  • May be responsible for certain subcontractors or parts of a large project.
  • Can perform some basic project management functions under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input for schedule creation, subcontracting strategy, subcontractor scopes of work, quality of construction, schedule adherence, budget containment, safety, selection of methods, systems, and techniques of construction, and labor cost control through daily attention to unit costs and adjustments in crew size or composition.
  • Maintain day-to-day contact and communication with clients, customers, contractors, and project team members.
  • Manage all phases of planning and execution on projects from FEL start to acceptance end.
  • Work with a client that has a high emphasis on quality, safety, process, and accountability.
  • Coordinate and interface between engineering group and business team.

    • Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience; preferred experience with construction, estimating and bid process, scheduling.
  • Understand and manage safety, quality, and schedules.
  • Manage multiple subcontractors within a working facility.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in daily tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with client, team, and management.
  • Must maintain positive relationships through daily communication with the client.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, and applications.

    • Physical Qualifications

  • Work at an active construction site with activities such as extensive walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces.
  • Some lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to enter and exit the project site as needed.
