• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status\n
• Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs\n
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care\n
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes\n
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment\n\nEssential Functions : \n
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team\n
• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness\n
• Synthesizes and prioritizes information in order to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgement and clinical inquiry.\n
• Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions\n
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures\n
• Other duties as assigned\n\nEducation : \n
• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)\n\nCertifications : \n
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)\n
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire); PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, required in lieu of BLS / ACLS for Pediatric Units, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)\n\nExperience : \n
• 1 year of RN experience (required)\n
• 6 months RN experience in a Med / Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred)\n\nAs a Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
