Responsibilities Work in a Med / Surg Tele unit within a Level I Trauma, acute care teaching hospital Patient ratios are 1 : 5, with occasional 1 : 6 depending on capacity Floating required to MS / Tele, PCU, and lower acuity units, as well as to the ED within skillset Provides care to diverse adult patient populations including those requiring telemetry and IV starts Uses Cerner EMR for all charting Shift is day, 4x12 hours (7 : 00-19 : 30) Expected to work two weekends per four-week schedule Assignment length is 13 weeks No on-call responsibilities Will provide nursing care, initiate IVs, and monitor patients on telemetry Part of a multidisciplinary care team in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment First-time travelers are accepted Holiday coverage required; only one holiday bundle may be requested off No RTO may be requested during the first or last 7 days of the contract Time off greater than 10 days requires approval Drug screen required within 30 days of start Free on-site parking available Billable orientation modules completed during onboarding (up to 4 hours) Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before requiring a break Requirements Active NM or compact state RN license (may be pending at time of consideration) Minimum of 1 year of recent Med / Surg Tele RN experience Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale Experience in IV starts and telemetry required COVID vaccination required; exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation Must not reside within 75 miles of the facility Black scrubs required (not provided) Use of Cerner EMR required Driver’s license or personal transportation plan required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624606.
