About the Department :

The Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics are nurse-led inter-professional health centers operated by the George Mason University School of Nursing. The MAP clinics serve uninsured and medically under-served populations in Prince William and Fairfax Counties to deliver non-emergency health care, mental health support, case management, chronic disease education, and social services referrals, while providing essential clinical training for nursing and interprofessional students.

About the Position :

As a part-time Public Health Nurse Practitioner at the MAP Clinics, this individual will work 20 hours per week in a direct care Nurse Practitioner clinician role supervising Nurse Practitioner students in caring for low-income and medically underserved clients in Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities :

• Advanced NP Practice Clinical Care :
• Clinical Care : Assessing and managing a wide range of acute and chronic primary care conditions; performing and interpreting diagnostic tests; and leading specialty clinics, including those focused on chronic disease management, acute care, pediatrics, and women's health;

Education & Mentorship : Precepting graduate and undergraduate nursing students, guiding their clinical care experience, and contributing to practice based learning.

Serving as the lead nurse practitioner on-site, providing administrative oversight of population-based patient initiatives, and developing clinical improvement plans in collaboration with the MAP Administrative team.

Consulting, referring, and collaborating with both university and community healthcare providers to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
