Accounting Technician
The Dougherty County Clerk of Courts Department is hiring for an Accounting Technician. The purpose of this position is to perform general bookkeeping and accounting functions. The position is responsible for reconciling financial statements, posting data, maintaining budget records and generating reports. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Essential tasks include :
- Receipts funds, records and balances deposits; completes general office correspondence.
- Prepares reports as required by auditors, other departments and external agencies.
- Prepares invoices for payment; generates and prepares checks for mailing.
- Follows appropriate departmental internal controls for management of assigned accounts.
- Manages files for assigned area and performs general clerical duties.
- Assists in answering phones, greeting the public; responds to record requests.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include :
Associate's Degree or education that is equivalent to two (2) years of college.One (1) year of administrative support, bookkeeping or accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Supplemental information includes :
