American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 3 NICU night shift position requiring a CA RN license and strong neonatal ventilator experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within an acute care hospital21-bed NICU with patient ratios from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3Care for neonatal patients including 23 weeks and above, feeders / growers, and cooling casesHandles advanced respiratory support including oscillators, Draeger vents, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannulaNight shifts : 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., every other weekend required, 12-hour shifts with self-schedulingFloating required to Nursery and Pediatric units; potential float to Mother Baby if experiencedCerner used for electronic medical recordsResponsibilities include providing care to critically ill neonates and supporting advanced respiratory therapiesNICU charge nurse is almost always present; no nurse aides assignedFloor-specific orientation provided for both NICU and PediatricsRT and pharmacy available 24 / 7Standby / call may be required during low censusMust be comfortable with cooling cases; experience preferredScrub color is navyHoliday coverage required for 2 major holidaysFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active California RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years NICU experience requiredCertifications required : BLS and NRP (PALS and STABLE preferred)Experience with high frequency oscillators and advanced neonatal respiratory support requiredAbility to provide two recent professional references (one supervisor from past 12 months, one peer or supervisor from past 3 years)Copy of driver’s license required for considerationNo prior employment within the past year at CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity facilities\n Benefits\n
