Initiatives / Projects : Next Generation Analytic & Big Data Platform Industry background : : Software Engineering side – managed image creation, worked through CDIC pipeline Team Dynamic : Currently a team of 10 – All sr level engineers Would not be working on day to day activities, working on a project role for a new application Roles and Responsibilities :

• Will be the Apache Iceberg SME
• Designing the environment
• Building the steps to implement new solution
• Moving from Hadoop to the new open source software Must Have Technical Skills : Level 4 – 6+ years (will not have this with Apache Iceberg as it is newer)
• Open Source Development
• Open Source Software
• Data Formats : Apache Iceberg, Parquet, ORC
• Catalogs : JDBC, Nessie, Polaris
• Programming Languages : Python, Scala, Java
• Data Processing Frameworks : Spark, Trino, Flink
• Databases : SQL, NoSQL (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB)
• Workflow Orchestration : Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka Education / Certifications : No – experience in lieu of degree Screening Questions :
