Job Description
The Staff Pharmacist – Retail / Community is responsible for managing day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing, and providing exceptional patient care. This role includes supervision of pharmacy staff, patient education, inventory management, and community engagement to support comprehensive pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations
Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practicesManage inventory, conduct audits, and maintain accurate transaction recordsCollaborate with suppliers to ensure timely ordering and delivery of medicationsMaintain compliance with federal 340B program and other applicable regulationsMedication Dispensing & Patient Care
Accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions in accordance with laws and regulationsReview medication therapy for interactions and appropriatenessMaintain accurate medication records and ensure patient confidentialityProvide immunizations under defined protocolsCounsel patients and families on medication use, side effects, and over-the-counter optionsAddress insurance and prescription-related inquiries professionallyCollaborate with healthcare providers for optimal patient outcomesTraining & Education
Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and studentsStay current with continuing education and licensure requirementsCommunity Engagement
Participate in community outreach and educational programsBuild and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers and local organizationsRequirements
Required :
Graduate of an accredited School of PharmacyCurrent, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of UtahLicensure to dispense controlled substances in UtahExcellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills (Microsoft Office and pharmacy software)Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team settingPreferred :
Three or more years of retail pharmacy experienceAPhA Immunization CertificationPrevious pharmacy management experienceCompensation
