Senior Roadway Engineer / Transportation Operations Leader

We’re looking for a proven Senior Roadway Engineer who’s ready to take the next step—someone eager to blend technical excellence with strategic leadership. In this role, you’ll guide the growth of our Central Florida Transportation practice, partnering with statewide teams in Tampa, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee to deliver high-impact projects and build a strong regional presence.

What You’ll Do
Drive Technical Excellence
- Lead the full lifecycle of roadway design projects—from concept to completion.
- Direct the planning, technical execution, and delivery of complex transportation projects.
- Oversee design elements including geometrics, utilities, drainage, right-of-way, signage, and erosion control.
- Prepare and review design plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure quality and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with FDOT, CFX, municipalities, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to anticipate and solve challenges before they arise.
Lead People and Operations
Build and mentor a high-performing Orlando-based team of roadway professionals.Partner with State Leaders to develop operational strategies that support business and market growth.Manage local workload, staffing, and performance—ensuring both project success and team development.Track progress toward annual business goals and apply best practices in project planning, budgeting, and execution.Support pursuit efforts and business development strategies, shaping proposals and staffing plans for major opportunities.Grow the Practice
Strengthen relationships with FDOT, CFX, and local agencies while expanding our presence across Florida.Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives that position our firm as a leader in transportation design.Engage with industry organizations and partner firms to advance our professional influence and impact.Balance day-to-day delivery with strategic growth, in alignment with our practice-led business model.What You Bring
BS / MS in Civil or Transportation EngineeringActive Florida PE LicenseMinimum 10 years of roadway design experience with proven success leading large-scale transportation projectsDemonstrated project management experience with FDOT or similar agenciesProficiency with Bentley software (ORD preferred) and Microsoft Office SuiteExceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills —able to balance multiple priorities and inspire cross-functional teamsA strategic mindset with strong client engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilitiesWhy Join Us
