Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in school-based services is needed to support students through a leave contract in Shelbyville, TN. This role involves hands-on evaluations, direct interventions, and collaborative consultation within a dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct occupational therapy and sensory evaluations for referred students as well as scheduled re-evaluations.
  • Provide direct therapy services to approximately 11 students across four different schools.
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, support teams, and IEP meeting participants regarding student needs and strategies.
  • Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) and support team meetings regularly.
  • Offer consultative support for an additional 15-20 students.

Schedule & Duration :

  • The position requires in-person support for 3 days per week, with 7 hours per day.
  • There is potential for increased hours depending on student referral volume.
  • Contract duration spans from the first week of February through a week or two before the end of the school year.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based practice.
  • Familiarity with educational assessments, sensory integration techniques, and IEP processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, students, and families.
  • Ability to manage multiple caseloads across different locations efficiently.
