Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Med / Surg Tele RN with at least 2 years of experience and a NC or compact license for night shift assignments.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 41-bed inpatient MS / Tele unit with telemetry capability
  • Focus on renal and limb preservation patient population including ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, and diabetic complications
  • Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5-6
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
  • Self-scheduling based on unit needs
  • Floating to other units is required
  • Possible options for 36 or 48-hour work weeks
  • Uses Epic for EMR and Pyxis for medication management
  • Primary responsibilities include caring for renal and limb preservation patients and managing telemetry monitoring
  • Patients requiring hemodialysis receive treatment in a separate unit, while peritoneal dialysis is initiated on the floor by the dialysis team
  • Daily interdisciplinary team meetings include hospitalist, RN navigator, RNs, NAs, pharmacy, PT / OT, dietary, and receptionist staff
  • Orientation includes 24 hours (two precepted shifts plus EMR training)
  • Scrubs must be navy or white and are not provided
  • No RTO is allowed after booking and any call offs may result in contract cancellation
  • Locals are accepted

  • Active NC or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele experience
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required
  • Skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Willing to consider first-time travelers
