The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at the Prescott Campus is seeking a non-tenure track faculty member to teach classes and support the Aerospace Engineering (AE) department by providing opportunities for AE students to take ME capstone courses in the off-cycle semesters.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full course load each semester. The position is available in Fall 2025 at the Assistant / Associate / Full Professor level.

The Mechanical Engineering program offers three tracks : Energy, Propulsion, and Robotics. The department is particularly interested in candidates with industry experience in propulsion or energy sectors. Candidates with a strong background in engineering design and product development are encouraged to apply.

The College of Engineering (COE) faculty are housed in a modern complex, adjacent to laboratories in robotics, mechatronics, propulsion, and wind tunnel testing. The COE faculty also utilize the Aerospace Experimentation and Fabrication laboratory complex, which includes a fabrication suite, space systems lab, structural dynamics lab, materials science lab, mechanical testing lab, structures lab, and dedicated research labs. The recently completed Propulsion and Aerodynamics Complex, a 12,000 sq ft building, houses resources for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The STEM Education building hosts Robotics and Thermal-Energy Labs, Rapid Prototyping Lab, and the Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium. All labs feature state-of-the-art equipment for undergraduate use.

Qualifications

An earned Doctorate in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and related experience are preferred, but candidates with significant industry experience and a Master's degree are encouraged to apply.
