This is a FIRST SHIFT position, working Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm in Sycamore, Illinois.

Responsibilities :
- Follow all safety procedures, quality procedures, and instructions.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical components of high-speed automation equipment, including power presses and multi-cavity injection molding systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues, including those related to PLCs, sensors, actuators, and motor controls.
- Support hydraulic and pneumatic systems by addressing electrical and control-related faults and ensuring proper integration with automation controls.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring electrical and control system issues.
- Drive electrical maintenance and control system projects to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying and completing electrical work assignments, contributing to overall team efficiency.
- Design and fabricate custom electrical panels, wiring harnesses, and control system components to support equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose and repair systems.
- Actively participate in and manage continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing electrical system performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that drive production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all electrical safety regulations and promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and implementing best practices.
- Monitor electrical system performance and identify opportunities for predictive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure smooth handoffs, share critical information, and maintain consistency in operations and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and troubleshoot facility electrical infrastructure, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, inspections, maintenance activities, and custom wiring work.
- Maintain inventory of all regularly used parts and materials normally considered as maintenance or electrical repair times and initiate related requisitions.
- Exercise initiative in identification and completion of work assignments.
- Maintain an acceptable level of efficiency to optimize up time and to support department and divisional goals and objectives.
- Respond to emergency calls during off hours if required.
- Attend off-site training if required.
- Other related duties as directed by management.
- Regular, predictable attendance is essential to teamwork, timely information exchange, and meeting productivity requirements.
Skills / Competencies Required :
Must be able to identify and correct safety issues.Must have proven ability to safely operate and troubleshoot various manufacturing production equipment.Basic knowledge and understanding of electricity in A / C voltages ranging from 120-480 (3 phase).Knowledge of machine process and machine tool set up and quick changeovers.Ability to obtain an industrial powered truck license.Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.Must be able to follow verbal and written multi-step directions for complex machine operations and troubleshooting.Knowledge and experience of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Visual acuity, including depth perception and color vision, is required.Visual acuity and hand dexterity to handle parts, supplies, tools, complete wiring and panel work, and other related work materials is required.Ability to read and understand blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics.Education / Experience :
High school diploma or GED.Specialized training in areas such as PLC programming and LOTO (Lockout / Tagout).Working knowledge and understanding of Ladder Logic, PLC's and PLC programming.Specialized training classes / certifications in PLCs, Tool & Die, and CNS is a plus.Lean manufacturing training and familiarity with ISO are strongly preferred.Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenanceMathematical proficiency for measurements and calculationsWorking knowledge of the NEC, NFPA, and OSHA regulationsProficient experience in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word.)24 months of relevant experience is required, including experience with power presses, multi-cavity injection molding, and facility electrical systems.12 months of internal experience is preferred.OSHA-approved powered industrial truck license is preferred; training will be provided.Experience with a variety of industrial sensors used in automation, including inductive proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, laser sensors and amplifiers, capacitive sensors, light curtains and safety interlocks, analog and digital I / O devices.Ability to configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot sensor systems integrated with PLCs and automation controls.Proficient in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of : Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), transformers, resistive and induction electric heaters.Understanding of power distribution and load balancing in industrial environments.Physical Requirements :
Continuous standing during a shift (8-10 hours) with frequent reaching, pulling, kneeling, crouching, or bending.Must be able to continuously lift, push and pull up to 10 lbs., for 8-10 hours per day, frequently lift, push and pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and on occasion, lift over 60 lbs. This capability will either be determined from a physical exam, or verifiable past performance.Travel between campus buildings to perform maintenance repairs.Occasionally climb stairs and ladders, while reaching and balancing.Requirement to wear steel toe shoes.Routine use of respirator and completion of annual retesting and training.Work Environment :
Hot / cold temperatures based on seasonal variations.May be humidity, noise, odors, dustPossible exposure to oil, grease, and chemicals.Safety precautions are a must to minimize potential exposure to mechanical hazards.Work with equipment operating at extreme temperatures and voltages.May require overtime or on-call shifts.Compensation Disclosure :
The entry-level rate of pay for this position is $30.65 / hour. This rate represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
