Position Summary
The Automation Tech II works with minimal supervision to resolve electro-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems and related equipment and perform repair and preventive maintenance. Performs on-site set-up, programming, and customer training.
Responsibilities
- Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems
- Performs PLC troubleshooting and debugging
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings
- Performs on-site set-up, programming, and training
- Completes detailed reports and other paperwork
- Follows up on completed work with customers and other departments to ensure resolution
- Follows all Preventive Maintenance programs
- Completes all assigned training plans
- Complies with all safety programs, policies and procedures
Qualifications
2 years working in material handling industry preferred or equivalent industry experienceExperience with CMMS platform a plus2 years industry experience or equivalentFamiliarity with material handling equipment and PLCsFamiliarity with material handling equipment and knowledge of functionWorking knowledge of handheld and power toolsBasic knowledge of PLCs and motor controlAdvanced ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, moderate electrical, and controls defectsAdvanced ability to interpret both mechanical and electric drawings and schematicsSelf-motivated, organized and detail-orientedKnowledge of safe industrial work practicesStrong verbal and written communication skillsCustomer service orientationAbility to work in and contribute to a team settingIntermediate computer skills including MS OfficeFollow maintenance manuals and procedures to repair equipmentAbility to guide and teach Automation Tech ISupport SOP creation and technical documentationAbility to assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all material handling equipment and components a plusMust be able to speak, read and understand the English languageSeniority level
