Position Overview :

Sewell Ford Lincoln is seeking a skilled and motivated Software and Programming Technician to support our service operations through specialized computer programming and vehicle software updates. This mobile-based role is essential in ensuring our vehicles meet manufacturer standards for software and recall requirements. You will be working with modern diagnostic tools and directly interfacing with service teams and, on occasion, Ford Engineering.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

Execute Ford's outlined programming procedures on various vehicle models.

Manage uploads and downloads of large data files, including USB formatting.

Collaborate with service managers and advisors to communicate recall status updates and completions.

Liaise with Ford Engineering when needed for technical escalations.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems and computer hardware.

Maintain accurate records of programming tasks and ensure compliance with Ford standards.

Stay current with Ford certifications and training requirements.

Requirement

Requirements :

Experience with large file transfers and USB formatting.

General to advanced knowledge of operating systems and computer hardware troubleshooting.

Basic understanding of 12V battery systems and electrical concepts (power and ground).

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.

Must be comfortable working in a mobile environment.
