We are seeking a detail-oriented HR professional to join one of our clients as a Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist. This role is responsible for administering LOA programs including FMLA, state-specific leave laws (e.g., CA LOA), and internal medical leave policies. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions and provide compassionate support to employees throughout the leave lifecycle. This position also supports general HR administrative functions when LOA volume permits.
Key Responsibilities :
Administer and track LOA requests, approvals, and return-to-work processes.
Ensure compliance with federal and state leave regulations, including FMLA and state-specific laws.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee leave records.
Serve as a liaison between employees, managers, HR, payroll, and third-party administrators.
Communicate leave decisions, timelines, and return-to-work requirements.
Assist with onboarding / offboarding tasks such as offer letters and background checks when needed.
Support compliance reporting and audits related to leave programs.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2–3 years of experience in LOA administration.
Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Comp, and state-specific leave laws (California preferred).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; no specific HRIS system experience required.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
