Material Handler / Packer 1st Shift
The Materials Handler-Packer is responsible for the receipt of all goods and merchandise, the warehousing and inventory of all raw material, and preparing parts for shipments.
Essential Functions :
- Receive all raw material, UPS and FedEx packages
- Verification of material received against purchase orders
- Inspect raw material and issue RIR tags; request inspection if required
- Move material using fork truck and / or combi lift / manual carts to appropriate areas
- Assist in maintaining inventory control
- Operate saw
- Responsible for move tickets of raw material
- Manually wash manufactured parts by lifting parts placed in a basket, dipping in solvent and rinsing, blowing off excess with the use of an air hose and by using degreaser and spinner
- Pack parts for shipment as assigned
- Move material using fork truck to appropriate area
- Work with Quality Assurance on priority parts for daily inspection
Responsibilities :
Daily entering and posting of all raw materialDaily accurate account of raw material inventoryReport non-conforming raw material to Receiving Manager and follow through with MRB instructionsResponsible for supplying material to work centers as neededReceive customer supplied parts, issue inspection and RIR tagsUnderstand routing sheets for parts that require outside operation such as plating, grinding or heat treatingPackage small products or parts in standard containers in shipping areaForm, staple or tape seal boxesMay be required to select, assemble and check ordersStencil or attach shipping and handling instructionsVerifies all work procedures are checkedTumble parts, per routing, by selecting the correct tumbling materials and placing the correct amount in a machineWork with Quality Assurance department to match parts, verify part numbers and distribute parts to next process such as an outside process or finished goodInspect Humphrey parts for metal chips and debris and clear using air hoseMust be quality conscious and continuously look for improvementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. safelyRequirements :
2+ years warehouse experienceForklift experience and certification preferredPossess general knowledge of manufacturing processesDemonstrates the ability to read, write, speak and hear, interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, blueprint, diagram and schedule form in EnglishExhibit core values of integrity and accountabilityMaintain a clean, orderly, and efficient work areaExhibit strong attention to detail; problem solving, time management and interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of data entry and computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP applicationsPossess basic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiple and divideRegularly required to sit, stand, stoop, crouch and kneelRequired to use hands to handle, touch and feel tools, equipment and controlsVision ability (corrective or non) to include close range, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusAbility to understand and comply with all company, safety and quality policies and procedures and advocate ISO system standardsWorking Conditions :
