Services are provided both within the community and in the office based on client needs. Your role as a peer support specialist will involve providing guidance, support, and encouragement to help adolescents navigate through challenging situations and develop essential coping skills.

Schedule : Monday-Friday from 10 : 00 am - 3 : 00 pm
Compensation :
Non-Certified Wage : $16.49 - $20.90 per hour
Certified Wage : $17.33 - $21.95 per hour (depending on experience)
Additional compensation available for Spanish speakers, after testing proficiency.
What we're looking for in a Peer Support Specialist
Ideal candidates will be self-identified individuals who are in recovery from a mental health and / or substance use disorder, parents of children with behavioral health disorders, or individuals with personal relationships with those experiencing behavioral health challenges. These qualifications will enable you to effectively support and guide youth towards recovery and empowerment.
Essential Functions (Performs all or some of the following)
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED; AND One (1) year post high school education in social work, psychology or a related field; AND One (1) year of general work experience; OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Successfully completed a Peer Support Training through the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH); Self-identified individual who is in recovery from a mental health and / or substance use disorder; or parent of a child with a behavioral health disorder; or other adult who has or has had an ongoing and personal relationship with an individual with a behavioral health disorder.

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
