Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a TN or compact license and recent L&D experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 2 in L&D and 1 : 8 for postpartum / couplets
  • Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week, 19 : 00-07 : 30
  • On-call required for 2 shifts every 6 weeks
  • Weekend requirement is 2 weekends per month or every other weekend
  • Floating required per policy and clinical experience
  • Cerner charting system is used; experience preferred but not required
  • Main responsibilities include the care and management of laboring patients and postpartum / couplet care
  • Completion of mandatory orientation and annual modules is required
  • Major holiday and holiday week RTO requests will not be accommodated, with exceptions coordinated onsite post arrival
  • No blocked scheduling requests allowed
  • Previous permanent staff may not return to the same campus within 24 months, or to a different campus within 12 months
  • Locals accepted at a lower rate with a 75-mile local radius rule
  • Travel teams with related or married members may not work on the same unit

    • Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
  • Current certifications in ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, FHM, AWHONN, and NIHSS
  • Prior travel experience is required for all specialties
  • Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
