Special Response Team (SRT) Assistant Watch Commander
The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. We are hiring for a Special Response Team (SRT) Assistant Watch Commander to supervise the special response team's security operations. The SRT Assistant Watch Commander will also provide supervision to the Special Response Team Correctional Specialists to ensure a safe and secure environment for youth and staff. You will be responsible for responding to facility emergencies 24 / 7 and ensuring all written documentation is complete and accurate. Reviewing and implementing special response team policies, procedures, and post orders consistent with facility needs. Manages duty rosters and assesses available personnel before shift begins to ensure that priority posts are covered per established procedure. The work hours will be 7 AM - 8 PM with a one-hour meal break. Hours are subject to change due to the needs of the facility, and they are subject to draft.
