Junior Payroll Specialist
Na Ali'i is looking for a Junior Payroll Specialist to support the Payroll Manager and Payroll team in maintaining and managing payroll information and processing. All tasks require a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through to ensure all data for accuracy and approvals before making appropriate adjustments to resolve any discrepancies. This position is a part of the Human Resources team, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and working out of our Arlington, Virginia office (preferred) or remote on the East Coast.

- Track and record payroll related changes throughout each pay period
- Accurately input and update data into various databases and systems while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist with creating Standard Operating Procedures for various payroll tasks.
- Process and administer accurate and timely payroll for a multi-entity government contracting organization across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Upload labor data to ADP and manual entry of any adjustments or manual checks
- Review and reconcile payroll files, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies
- Collaborate with HR and department managers to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee information, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and other payroll-related adjustments
- Assist with all payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, liens, taxes (federal, state and local), bonuses, net to gross pay, direct deposits, paper / live check & ACH calculations, bonus and PTO repayments, SCA H&W, payroll compliance for terminations, imputed income, PTO payouts, separation agreements, changes in pay rates, and other deductions / allowances
- Assist with 401k contribution submittals for each company; processed separately for every pay period
- Assist with processing year-end payroll, including W-2 preparation and reporting
- Support Payroll Manager in communication with employees on payroll-related matters
- Support payroll team in processing leave accruals, adjustments, and payouts during year-end payroll processing
- Must be able to work some late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to complete payroll by required deadlines
- All other payroll related duties as assigned by Payroll Manager or Nakupuna leadership
Qualifications

Education and Experience :
A high school diploma is requiredExperience in using ADP Workforce Now, Deltek Costpoint, and Deltek Time & Expense preferredProficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reportingKnowledge with HR and Benefits and how they affect payroll preferredMust be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven work environment as our team handles complex payroll processes and multiple pay cyclesUnderstanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws preferredExcellent attention to detail and accuracyKnowledge of general accounting principles and experience reconciling payroll-related accounts preferredStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex payroll issues.Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and multitask effectivelyExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levelsHigh level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive payroll informationDesires :
