About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Fashion Quality Control (QC) Manager for our Barcelona office to own product quality from pre‑production through bulk delivery. You’ll be hands‑on in factories—conducting inline and final inspections—and equally strong on the analytics that drive continuous improvement. What You’ll Do
- Factory Inspections : Perform PP / TOP, inline, and final inspections at vendor facilities; verify workmanship, measurements, trims, labeling, and packaging against specs and buyer manuals.
- Sampling & Standards : Apply AQL / ANSI Z1.4 sampling for audits; set and enforce tolerances by category (knits, wovens, denim, sweaters).
- Root‑Cause & CAPA : Lead investigations on defects / returns using 5 Whys, Pareto, and fishbone; drive corrective and preventive actions with clear owners and deadlines.
- Pre‑Production Controls : Oversee lab dips, strike‑offs, wash tests, and trim approvals; confirm construction methods meet quality and cost targets.
- Testing & Compliance : Coordinate fabric / garment testing (shrinkage, colorfastness, pilling, seam strength); ensure compliance with CPSIA / REACH / Prop 65, fiber content, care, and COO labeling.
- Process Audits : Evaluate factory processes (cutting, sewing, finishing, packing); implement in‑line quality checkpoints and operator training where needed.
- Data & Reporting : Build quality dashboards (defect rate, first‑pass yield, rework, returns); share weekly WIP / quality status and risk mitigation plans.
- Cross‑Functional Partnering : Work with Technical Design, Production, and Merchandising to align on fit, construction, and ship dates; support cost engineering without compromising quality.
What You Bring
Must : Willingness to travel frequently to inspect goods at factories (domestic and international).Must : Strong analytical skills (Excel / Sheets—lookups, pivots; clear, action‑oriented reporting).Must : Hands‑on factory inspection experience across inline and final audits.5+ years in apparel QC / QA or production quality across multiple categories.Deep understanding of garment construction, specs, grading, and tolerance setting.Proven track record reducing defect rates and improving first‑pass quality at scale.Familiarity with PLM / ERP quality modules and documentation best practices.Clear communicator who can influence vendors and cross‑functional partners.Valid passport and ability to travel on short notice.Seniority level
