Relief Therapeutic Counselor role at Northeast Center for Youth and Families
NCYF is a team of dedicated professionals and paraprofessionals providing quality care. Our agency is led by a passionate leadership team based in Easthampton.
Overview
NCYF is seeking engaging, enthusiastic individuals for Relief Therapeutic Counselor positions in our Therapeutic Day Programs for at-risk youth locations in Springfield, Westfield, and Easthampton. The Therapeutic Day Program runs Monday–Friday. Relief therapeutic counselors have the option to pick up 12 : 30pm–6 : 30pm shifts at any of our three locations.
Responsibilities
- Co-lead therapeutic activities and community trips to develop emotional strengths and life skills for individual youths.
- Teach and model age-appropriate social and living skills while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Assess and redirect youth as situations require; implement crisis avoidance and intervention as needed.
- Complete daily logs and required paperwork with accuracy.
- Assist with daily program organization such as cooking, shopping, and activity preparation.
- Provide transportation for clients to and from NCYF sites in agency vehicles or as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
