Responsibilities Work in a hospital Neuro Med / Surg unit Provides care for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery Utilizes Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required Night shift, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week No local candidates; must live at least 50 miles from the facility Performs and documents comprehensive assessments, develops and modifies plans of care, and implements nursing interventions tailored to neurological patients Promptly identifies and responds to changes in neurological status and seizure activity Engages in interdisciplinary collaboration and participates actively in unit communication Participates in patient admission / discharge, medication administration following the 5 Rights, and patient / family education Delegates responsibilities to support staff and verifies task completion Must maintain a positive and proactive attitude that fosters a healing patient environment Patient safety, fall precautions, and infection control are critical priorities Maximum RTO is 7 days per 13-week contract Candidates cannot be continuously on assignment with this health system for more than one year; a 6-month break is required before returning No travel partners accepted for this assignment Requirements Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required Level 1 Trauma experience required and must be listed by a previous facility Epic charting experience is required ASN required; BSN preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614782.
