Role and Responsibilities

Truck drivers are responsible for driving a commercial vehicle for extended hours to deliver and received cargo safely and efficiently while abiding by traffic laws and ensuring safe unloading / loading and delivery at their destination. In-depth training may be required to prepare a Truck Driver for their daily duties. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
• Responsible for safely securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
• Transport load to assigned destination.
• Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
• Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with customers.
• Perform inspections of the vehicle prior to and following each trip and ensure assigned tractor and tailer are well-maintained and in safe operating condition. Advising supervisor of any necessary maintenance, repair, or safety concerns as necessary.
• Maintaining all DOT logs and following all DOT regulations.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive safely according to the weather / road conditions.
• Communication professionally with all customers, other employees, and supervisors.
• Always make safety a priority.
