Responsibilities Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting Responsible for adult critically ill patients requiring comprehensive circulatory and respiratory support Unit specializes in open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic aneurysm repair, and vascular / thoracic surgeries Nurse-to-patient ratios are based on acuity and vary from 1 : 2, 1 : 1 to 2 : 1 Multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment with 24 staffed beds Uses Epic EMR system Rotating 3x12 hour shifts including both day (7 : 00-19 : 30) and night (19 : 00-7 : 30) shifts Required to work all days of the week with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule Floating required to meet unit needs and to similar specialty units No on-call requirements Perform advanced nursing care, including management of vasoactive medications and complete cardiopulmonary support modalities Care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures Collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team focused on holistic care and continuous education Navy scrubs required Requests for time off not allowed during specified blackout periods (October 22–November 3, November 24–December 1, December 21–January 3) Up to 10 days of time off may be approved outside of blackout dates First-time travelers are accepted Local candidates living within 75 miles are eligible Requirements Active CO or compact RN license required AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a critical care or CVICU setting required Epic charting experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627907.
