Job Summary

Starting at $21.00 / hour

Summary : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Prep Cook to participate in a fast-paced grab and go kitchen environment. A prep cook is an entry-level position in the culinary industry. They are primarily responsible for preparing ingredients that make up the restaurant dishes. Prep cooks must ensure that food items are ready for the cooks and line cooks to assemble meals. This position will be required to wash, chop, peel, and cut ingredients, assist with marinating meats, measuring spices, and organizing food storage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list. All other duties assigned by leadership are expected to be completed as requested) :

• Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
• Label and stock ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings.
• Undertake basic cooking duties.
