Lab Technician – Dairy Products
Location : Milbank, SD
Schedule : Full-time | 4 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM | Rotating weekends 5-2-2-5 schedule
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll collect and test dairy product and environmental samples, operate lab equipment, and ensure accurate results that support food safety and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Perform analytical and sensory testing on dairy products (dry, AMF, cheese)
- Identify trends and troubleshoot out-of-spec results
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment
- Collect, clean, and prepare samples using aseptic techniques
- Ship samples for external testing
- Conduct basic microbiological testing using Petrifilm and plating methods
- Safely handle chemicals and reagents
- Maintain accurate records in line with A2LA standards
- Participate in lab training and proficiency testing
- Follow GMPs and safety protocols
- Support specialized tasks like cheese grading, raw milk testing, and Kjeldahl analysis

High school diploma or GEDBasic computer skillsPreferred :
