Product Managers play a critical role in Ion's success by empowering teams across technical and commercial functions to bring life-changing tools to our customers and patients. The Staff Software Product Manager will be responsible for the development of the next-generation software portfolio of Ion, a novel robotic technology for lung access. This role will own the next generation software product roadmap across multiple product franchises, scoping the development of new software features, and owning the end-to-end system-level software experience. The ideal candidate for this role must have excellent communication, organization, and technical skills. The ability to evangelize product narratives to key stakeholders, while maintaining a high attention to detail, and serving as the central point-of-contact for next generation software product development workstreams is key. Expertise in product management methodology, project management methodology, software development, early stage product conceptualization, and product roadmap development within healthcare / medical devices is a plus. This role will report to the Group Product Manager of software.

Essential Job Duties

• Develop next generation software product roadmap across multiple product franchises in the Ion business unit
• Develop a deep knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer and future clinical spaces, including monitoring and consuming clinical literature, attending medical society meetings and engaging with physician key opinion leaders
• Understand competitive, emerging, and complementary technology, and its impact on Intuitive's endoluminal product lines
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research. Direct customer interviews (patients, HCPs & their care team, providers and payers) and observations to develop insights and inform the product roadmap
• Develop customer segmentation and marketing claims strategy for next generation product franchises
• Drive cross-functional alignment on pre and post-launch product roadmap and data collection in pre-clinical and clinical settings
• Partner with product franchise leads to develop and prioritize software product investigations, features, and product requirements for next generation software
• Partner with UX and Clinical to prototype and assess prototype product solutions
• Evaluate critical business requirements and potential product impact
• Own and scope the end-to-end software experience for users across next generation product franchises and global geographies to ensure a unified, consistent, and streamlined user experience
• Drive desirability, feasibility, and viability assessments of next generation software product features to prioritize next generation product portfolio
• Ability to collect, organize, and leverage datasets to build business cases and drive business decisions for next generation software product lines
• Identify high-leverage software innovations by customer desirability, business viability, and longer-term NPV methodologies
• Partner with engineering and business development teams to assess new technologies, potential partnerships, and prioritize the new business development software pipeline
• Collaborate with regional teams to ensure that product features and NextGen portfolio align with user needs across geographies
