Job Summary
Erlanger is seeking a dedicated and skilled ACNP or PA to join our Urology team at the Baroness campus. This inpatient role offers the opportunity to work closely with a fast-paced urologic surgeon, serving as a first assist in the OR and managing comprehensive pre-operative and post operative patient care.
In this position, the APP will assist in a variety of urologic procedures in the OR, contributing to surgical preparation, intraoperative support, and post-surgical recovery. The role includes managing patients before surgery through assessments and coordination, an after surgery by monitoring recovery, addressing complications and ensuring smooth transitions to discharge or follow up care.
The APP will also round on inpatient urology cases, collaborating with the care team to evaluate progress, update treatment plans, and communicate with patients and families. Discharge responsibilities include patient education, medication reconciliation, and coordination of outpatient services to ensure continuity of care.
The ideal candidate will have prior OR experience and a strong interest in surgical care. This role is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about supporting patients through the full surgical journey.
This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee / Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients / families / caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
Required Education
Completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, Family Nurse Practitioner Program, Adult Nurse Practitioner Program (Acute care certification required) or Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Preferred Experience
Previous OR experience is preferred

Department Position Summary
An ACNP / PA in Urology will work under direction of the physicians / medical director. He / She will be responsible for developing evidence based protocols and utilizing them to develop an individualized plan of care. He / She must be able to collect, document, and analyze patient data. They must be able to collaborate with the health care team in the development and implementation of testing and treatment according to protocols. He / She must be able to participate in development and implementation of health screening program for adolescents and adults, and develop protocols for identification of high-risk individuals. He / She must participate in community and corporate education on urological topics.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over their life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. He / She must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures. This is done through evaluation of direct supervisor by direct observation, in a skills lab, or discussed verbally or written. Competency can also be evaluated by a formal peer review process and / or by self assessment based on objective criteria that is reviewed and validated.
The individual will participate in clinical research & may assume the responsibility of research coordinator including but not limited to education & enrollment in clinical trials.
