Job Overview

The R&D Technician is a hands-on role that supports the design, development, and testing of the company's innovative products. You will be working side-by-side with Engineering and Manufacturing. This position reports to the Senior Engineer Manager.

Responsibilities & Deliverables include, but are not limited to :

  • Fabrication of catheter-based subassemblies and full assemblies
  • Device testing including validation testing.
  • Troubleshooting device material and assembly issues
  • Generate functional prototype from design concepts and assist the transfer of R&D product
  • build to manufacturing.
  • Support product builds through all R&D project phases, providing feedback on assembly
  • process.
  • Perform testing to support design, process, and equipment validation.
  • Prepare test samples (products / materials / solutions) for routine and qualification testing.
  • Support the building and assembly of prototypes.
  • Identify issues as they arise and assist in troubleshooting of procedures and / or instruments.
  • Execute re-work and inspection of components and assemblies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and at least 2 years of medical device technician or manufacturing
  • experience
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
  • Experience in working with different adhesives and other bonding methods.
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing and test procedures.
  • Experience performing tasks under a microscope.
  • Working knowledge of catheter based medical devices.
  • Comfortable in a clean room.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Able to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
