The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services. The candidate is expected to work with limited supervision and serve as a technical lead of a scrum development team, collaborating with business and technical objectives and schedules that require designing, coding, deploying, testing, and providing technical support.

What You Will Do

  • Create and sustain the algorithmic and data architecture for software spanning RTX product engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate and embed with both new and existing geographically distributed Agile teams, Product Teams, System Teams, Developers and internal customers to align architecture with current and future needs.
  • Enhance internal architecture to maximize application capacity and performance.
  • Work across the full application stack to identify and prioritize architectural enhancements in relation to current deliverables.
  • Mature the architecture practices across the organization.
  • Manage both the client-side and server-side architecture implementations, ensuring they meet the highest standards for performance, usability, and security, and contributing to all aspects of the software lifecycle, from design to deployment.

Qualifications you must have

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university or college with a major in Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 15 years of software architecture, full-stack development, and deployment experience.
  • Leadership : Proficient in all stages of the product and software development lifecycle; experienced in Agile / Scrum team implementation, tools such as Jira and Confluence; conversant with business processes related to proposal development, engineering, planning, manufacturing and delivery; and experienced in onboarding and mentoring junior developers.
  • Application Development : Proficient in writing clean, modular code with expertise in Java (versions 8-21), Spring framework, JavaScript, and TypeScript; skilled in UI performance enhancement and familiar with tools such as Node.js, Angular, and ag-grid.
  • Database Management : Experienced in DBMS (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL) with strong SQL skills, database design, normalization, and indexing.
  • Architecture : Skilled in analyzing performance limitations, refactoring live applications, decomposing architectural changes into SAFe stories, and using tools like Enterprise Architect.
  • DevSecOps : Knowledgeable in DevOps, SecDevOps, SAFe, CI / CD concepts, and tools including Jenkins, Jira, Git, Terraform, and automated testing frameworks; proficient in configuring Jenkins pipelines and collaborating on cloud hosting and deployment.
  • Testing and Optimization : Experienced in rigorous use of frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Instancio, and Jasmine for testing, and optimizing application performance and capacity.
  • Qualifications we prefer

  • Experience with engineering architecture and design concepts in the U.S. Aerospace and defense sector.
  • Troubleshoot / Debug development issues, including raising support tickets with third-party vendors as needed.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solutions that support multiple deployable configurations from a single codebase.
  • Ability to work effectively translate business requirements and communicate technical information to developers, and present information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading a scaled agile framework team to deliver automated solutions and work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment and with all levels of the organization.

    The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and / or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company's performance.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
