About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in SICU

License : Valid nursing license required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS required; NIHSS, TNCC preferred

Must-Have :

Experience in Bed Side Shift Reporting (BSSR).

Utilization of AIDET important.

Hour rounding expected.

Description :

Candidates must have two years of SICU experience.

ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

Experience with NIH and TNCC is preferred.

Communication using AIDET and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Float to MICU and serve as a patient observer as necessary.

Candidates can expect variable shifts typically alternating between three weeks of days and nights.

Hourly rounding and BSSR are required practices on the unit.

Interdisciplinary support includes therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Candidates will manage arterial lines, central lines, and ventilated patients.

Experience in multi-system organ failure and trauma care is beneficial.

Expected patient ratios are 2 : 1 during both day and night shifts.

Daily census averages 11 patients with a total of 16 beds in the unit.

Candidates will provide care for adults and geriatrics.

Implementation of infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions is necessary.
