Overview
Senior Water Resources Engineer to add technical, project management, and business development expertise to the Water Control and Conveyance team. The ideal candidate provides high level technical assistance, mentors a team, and leads design and permitting efforts for site / civil development with federal / state permitting, local planning and zoning requirements, utility sites, flood control structures, and coastal / waterfront infrastructure. Strong leadership, communication, report and proposal writing, and business development skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide high level technical assistance to industry experts and clients, and mentor team members.
- Lead design of site / civil development plans addressing federal and state permitting and local jurisdiction planning and zoning requirements.
- Work on utility sites, flood control structures, and coastal and waterfront infrastructure projects.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations; contribute to business development efforts.
- Oversee design projects from concept through design, permitting, and completion, including layout, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control.
- Assist with cost estimating and scheduling; manage staff as needed.
- Maintain familiarity with regulatory requirements and prepare state and federal permit documents (e.g., USACE 408 and 404 Permitting).
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional agencies and clients; travel as required.
Required Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Structural, Water Resources, Geotechnical Engineering or related field.Professional Engineering license is required.20+ years in Civil or Geotechnical engineering with at least 5+ years in project management and client relationship management.Demonstrated knowledge in areas such as municipal / state contracts, floodplain regulations, FEMA levee accreditation, FERC hydropower inspections, conveyance design, and coastal permitting, planning, and design.Advanced technical skills in water resources fields including flood control design, dams and levees, water conveyance, stormwater management, hydraulic / hydrological analysis, floodplain management, site development, and coastal structures.Experience with cost estimating and scheduling.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and development of state and federal permit documents (USACE 408 and 404).Well established relationships with local / regional agencies and clients.Ability and willingness to travel periodically; experience managing staff.Professional Skills & Attributes
